‘A Map of the World from the Best Authorities’
Engraved by Mathew Carey for his edition of Guthrie’s new system of geography in 1795. This engraving-printed and hand-colored map shows the earth in west and east hemispheres, and the ‘tracks’ of Captain Cook’s expeditions on the Endeavour and the Resolution from 1768 to 1780.
